Scott Daruda, player Stats
We have been concentrating our Rugby statistics articles on those at the professional end of the game. we are though cognisant that we want to see amateur and in this case semi professional rugby performances highlighted.
We chose to follow Scott Daruda, the Northern Suburbs number 10 in their top of the table clash with Souths in the 2013 Shute Shield. Daruda had kindly worn Blue headgear to make our job much easier.
This helps us show you, that your club can benefit from our product too.
Souths ran out 22-17 winners on a blustery North Sydney Oval, but Scott Daruda’s performance was solid.
A bustling start saw him kick off and concede a penalty after a good tackle within 50 seconds of the match beginning!
Daruda, very ,much played the role of the distributor in the opening half, his kicking out of hand was good, overall 18 passes to 4 kicks and 2 hit ups with 4 successful tackles (defending wider) was a good ratio for any #10.
The blemishes on the record for the half were 2 penalties conceded, both at the ruck. The second kept the p[ressure on his side and Souths scored their try on the back of the pressure from the second.
The second half saw Daruda start with more of the same, good distribution and 3 tackles in quick succession.
As the half wore on, Daruda, passed and passed and passed (46 times all up) as Norths tried to break through Souths outside backs. The only time he didn’t pass was after the bell when he chose poorly with a grub kick into the Souths in goal which was easily mopped up by the visitors for the win.
